Ceps is a pretty hamlet in the commune of Roquebrun. It is situated in the national park and lies along the river Orb. The village is made up of lovely stone houses and you arrive by crossing the 19th century bridge which was built to allow the grapes to be transported to Roquebrun. There is a lovely river beach where you can sunbathe and swim in the river at different points. It has one of the last wild camping areas in france with picnic tables set out in the shade and the locals will gather for music evenings in the summer, each person bringing wine and food to share. For me this place is special as it is my pricipal home and I love the buzz of the neighbours working th vineyards, you can hear the donkeys sometimes braying in the distance and there are some fabulous walks from the village. One of our recommendations would be to go winetasting at one or all of the four independant wine makers in the village. They do some fabulous tours which are both informative but also great fun and you get to see the beatiful hidden places. The village fete is in August so if you are staying in Ceps let us know if you would like to buty tickets to the meal.
