Vieussan is a beautiful village with the river running at the bottom. Here you can swim, find coves to sunbathe in or visit the beach area. The villlage has a great bar and restaurant that provide good value meals and can cater for vegetarians and vegans. It also has a small play area in the garden for children during summer months. The village itself is quite hilly but there are fabulous walks to be taken with stunning views. A photographers dream, this village has some hidden gems in and amongst its stone arches and old stone buildings. There is also a small shop for forgotten essentials and of course wine, wine, wine! Kayaking can be booked from Vieussan down to Ceps or Roqeubrun or from Tarassac to Vieussan. It is not far to Mons le trivale where you can join the “voie vert” ( a flat cycling route along the old railway) which takes you Bedarieux or St Pons. From Mons you can also visit Gorge d’Heric,. Mons also has some good restaurants serving classic french food and a pizzeria.The small market is held here on Sundays during the summer.
