This Village has changed so much since I first visited when I arrived. It was a pretty, sleepy village of 350 inhabitants with just a Pizza hut on occasion, although the local fetes were some of the best I have ever been to. They usually have an Easter fete held inside and then the summer one is in the square.

Now the village has a restaurant in the vaulted cellar or on their terrace at Chez Amis , a small bar is now open too and you can get Pizza at the restaurant in the village. Outi also does cookery course and heat and serve meals which you can book through this site.

There is a sport area in St Nazaire where you can play tennis or petanque (French boules). At certain times of the year you can go on a wine walk learning about the local wines. Our friend Bernard from Ceps also makes lovely wine at “Lanye-Barrac” from St Nazaire and you can join one of their tours and tastings for 12 euros and its free for under 16’s.

There are beautiful walks from the village in all directions and one of my favourites is from the edge of the village which takes you over to Roquebrun.

Local wines to try Domaine La Lauzeta, a new organic estate started by Tom Hills. His rosé is doing very well. Tom and his crew are very busy during the vendage ( grape picking September) so may not be able to welcome you during these times and as they are a small team don’t do “tastings” as such. However if you are here and Tom is around he’s happy for you to knock on the door in the evening, have a chat about his wines and of course you can buy some!
